ABOUT ME

Ahh, the dreaded "About Me" page. Well, where do I start? In 2013 I came up with the idea of starting a blog dealing with relationship advice and being a "Modern lady" in my 20s but Murphy's Law seemed to be an unwanted companion over the years. Subsequently what started out as a blog about relationship advice and being a "Modern lady" later evolved into The Journey of a Phoenixx.

The Journey of a Phoenixx is a place that talks about the hidden stagnations, growth, changes (good and bad), and transformations we go through as women ... how at some point in our lives we are simultaneously being and becoming the modern-day Proverbs 31 woman. This is a place for us to be able to breath, exhale, relax, fellowship, have fun, grow, and hopefully heal with one another. From mental health to family (or other relationships), to wellness to entrepreneurship, we are going to talk about it all! We’re all going on this journey one way or another, so why not do it together? Join the Phoenixx family by filling out the subscribe form or follow us on one of our social media sites.

Now this portion for me is a little awkward (sigh). I really don’t know what to put for the bio portion of my About Me page (deep breath in) ... (deep breath out) so here we go! Hi, my name is Cherrelle Evans. Besides having a thing for taking weird pictures I am a Christian, married, a new mom, musically inclined, creative, and an entrepreneur.

CONTINUED ...

So how did I get here? Well over the years I had been toying with the idea of making a blog/starting my own business. I created a few (blogs) at different points but it wasn’t until I was laid off of my job August 12, 2020 (right after my maternity leave was over) that I became more serious about it. 14 years of loyal service down the drain is what it initially felt like but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. My mind, body, and spirit needed a break. This world crisis has given us one whether we wanted it or not.

So far in the mist of the pandemic I have been able to raise/spend quality time with my beautiful baby boy, have God use him to help heal me from some incurred spiritual injuries,  deal with my anxiety and hidden depression, learn more about my natural hair, focus more on my marriage,  and rekindle my passion (or passion period) for what was originally going to be The Diaries of a Wildflower to the Journey of a Phoenixx. If you’ve read this far I hope you  would join the Phoenixx fam by filling out the subscribe form or follow us on one of our social media sites. Come and soar with me!
